We want to thank all our drivers and staff for being an integral part of the new website launched September 2021. Without them, we would just be another bus company. Over 60 of our great team members have signed up to have their pictures taken for the site. So be sure to if you haven’t already. Cindy L has been having fun driving her mini van kids to & from Jordan and Chaska schools since the beginning of 2017 out of our Waconia facilities. She loves how they keep growing and maturing. When she’s not driving, she likes to ride her horses, down to just three from the thirteen they used to have. Cindy also likes spending quality time with her family and friends.
Bob J joined the KBS team of drivers 9/2022 doing his CDL training with Reggie. He drives two days a week on a Cologne A route. Bob likes all the students and driving a big bus! When not driving, he keeps plenty busy with his grandkids, golfing and spending time on Lake Waconia.
Ron F trained with Reggie 9/2023 and received his CDL a month later. He did a van route for awhile, now driving a big bus. He likes dealing with kids of all ages, especially seeing the energy on his elementary routes! Ron also likes woodworking using a lathe, making items as small as writing pens. Plus he’s good with new technology like Apple’s Home automation.
Heidi T has been driving a big bus out of our Waconia yard since 2014. She loves the "funny things" the kids talk about so much that in 2017, her son Clay, started with KBS, too! So you know she loves all “her kids” and is a great Mom! When not driving, Heidi likes to go antiquing for a wide variety of treasures.
Marina started with KBS out of Waconia in 2023. One of her childhood dreams was driving, so she went straight for her class B license and loves driving a big bus to schools in Waconia, Cologne and Shakopee. Marina likes listening to what her students are talking about and to Christian radio between routes. When not driving Marina reads, spends time with family and nature walks.
Since 2022 Niki has been driving vans to & from St Joes and Waconia. She feels good in helping our next generation. When not with her “bus kids” Niki and her husband own a ranch, sharing their passion with kids learning to ride a different form of transportation-horses. Daughter Riley is a true cowgirl, too. They take her to compete in rodeos across the countryside. Niki is a busy women!
Early in 2023 Kakhi decided she wanted to drive a bus. Starting in a van but now has her class B for a big bus. She hopes to be a good influence on all the kids. In her free time when not with her 3 young granddaughters, she likes to go metal detecting and visiting nursing homes with her service dog. With church weekly, Kakhi applies
all she learns to her daily life. All the best Kakhi!
Erin had been driving for Cologne Academy for 5 years, then in 2022 through KBS, continues a Cologne route. She home schools her kids so she’s able to take them with. Interacting with the other kids makes for a great way to teach them throughout the day. Erin likes listening and talking with all the kids. She enjoys the beautiful sunrises and reads a lot of books!
Kashlee started with KBS in 2022 driving a van out of Waconia. She likes making connections with the kids and many times she takes her own kids along! Kashlee is alway eager to hear what they tell her about each day. She loves to travel and believe it or not, she recently bought one of our retired full-size buses and plans to renovate it for doing more traveling across the USA!
Dan M started at our Shakopee yard in January 2022. Currently he’s a para on a Chaska route. Dan really likes the environment, as he said it’s very calm compared to his last place of employment. Proof that hanging out with kids does have a calming effect. When not on the bus, he enjoys video games, reading, building model kits and listening to music.
Mike is Dan’s father so the saying; like father - like son! Mike has been driving out of our Shakopee yard since 2021. Currently he picks up & delivers students from St Joseph’s and Dean Lakes. Mike likes his students, their teachers and all the other drivers! Other likes are hunting & fishing and Drag Racing on TV.
Heather W started with us way back in 2001! She did take a short hiatus but is now back at our Waconia facilities. Heather does a wide variety of charter, sub & other routes. She has probably driven every bus we own! Heather likes all the kids and driving them to different events. When Heather is not driving, she likes going to the family cabin.
Craig W has been driving a mini bus out of the Waconia yard since December of 2019. His three likes about driving are; the kids, other drivers and Koch Bus Service! In his free time Craig enjoys doing yard work, gardening, woodworking and tinkering with Jeeps.
Ben C started as a para in 2018, then became a bus driver for us out of Shakopee in 2019 for all ECC schools and Holy Family. What Ben likes best about being a bus driver is doing different routes and exploring new areas. In his free time, Ben works on electronics and plays video games.
Beth P started in 2010 out of Waconia. She loves driving the “little” buses. Beth has driven some of her kids since pre-school and many are now in middle school. She says
everyday is different and every child makes her smile! Beth also loves spending time with her own kids & grandkids. She also likes the theater, reading, sewing and painting.
David R started with us in 2004. He drives a big bus and over the years has delivered kids to & from over six schools. He likes all the kids and as you may have guessed; he drives dressed as Santa every Christmas season! He likes driving so much that in 2015, he convinced his wife Shirley to start driving for us as well. Off-season Dave plays golf and likes to fish.
Shirley is David’s wife. After hearing all the enjoyment David has driving for us, in 2015 she decided to drive a van for special needs children. Shirley has driven to most all the schools David has, so she really gets around. She says it’s all been very rewarding! When not driving or spending time with her husband, Shirley likes to play with her phone apps.
Russ F has always liked anything with a motor so he started driving a big bus for us in 2020. Besides the good feeling of driving a bus, he likes seeing the smiles, & hearing the laughter of the kids with all the different hats he wears. This one fits him perfect! When not driving a bus, Russ likes to spend time at the local car race tracks.
Glen H has been with Koch Bus Service since 2011, starting as a driver out of Watertown. He now he spends his time at both Watertown & Waconia facilities. Glen is one of our main trainers & third party tester. Glen loves the kids on his routes, as well as training new drivers. In his free time, Glen enjoys golfing, camping and spending time at his Florida home.
Larry N has been driving for KBS since 2016. He started in a van, then got his CDL license. Starting at Watertown, he now drives out of Waconia. He enjoys his students and seeing how they interact with one another. Larry also enjoys spending time with his family, reading, watching tv and mowing the lawn.
Dan C has been driving out of our Waconia facilities since February 2013. Over the years, Dan has enjoyed watching “his kids” grow up each year. He also really likes all his free time between routes, holidays and the summer months. Dan spends some of his free time with small group Bible studies and watching baseball and hockey games.
Al B started driving for us in 2012 out of Waconia. Al likes the variety of being inside and outside of the bus, enjoying the scenery and being mobile - think “office with a view.” In his free time Al enjoys watching tv, going for walks, playing boardgames and cards.
Gail S has been driving out of Watertown North since 2011. After working corporate for 25 years, she loves the flexible hours and couldn’t ask for a better employer. Loves the people and kids. Gail is also a group leader of an international Bible study, plus in a few quilting ministries and loves football.
Rick G started in 2018 driving a mini bus out of our Shakopee facilities. Rick really likes the people that he works with, the flexible schedule and getting to know the students and their parents. Rick and his wife enjoy spending time at their lake place, fishing, hunting, and spending as much time as possible with their grandson.
Steve H began in May 2015 and drives a big bus out of Waconia. We’re glad that he loves to drive, as he also runs two farming operations with Black Angus & hogs plus corn & soybeans.
Bonnie F started in 1996 and was employed by M & D Maass Bus Co when we purchased it. Over the years Bonnie has filled multiple positions for us including cleaning, fueling and driving every size van and bus. Bonnie drives a big bus now and is a familiar face to kids on many routes over the years.
Reggie K started driving for Koch Bus Service out of Watertown North in 2020. He also trains new drivers for their CDL license at all of our locations. He loves getting to know the kids, driving athletic events and watching the kids compete. In his free time, Reggie likes to read and study God’s word and enjoys the outdoors with biking, walking and running.
Barbara E started driving a van for us in 2011 out of Shakopee. As a van driver she gets to connect with her kids as some of them have long drives and love to chat! Outside of driving, “Barbie" gets her exercise by walking her dog daily regardless of the weather. She enjoys spending time with friends, her children and her 8 grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Ken K has been driving buses for Waconia schools since 1967! He enjoys driving a big bus. And likes all his students that he transports to & from school. In his free time, Ken likes to tinker with anything mechanical. He’s had quite the collection of cars over the years! You should ask him about them.
Angie L drives a mini bus out of our Shakopee facilities. She started with Koch Bus Service in 2016. What Angie loves about driving a bus is getting to know each kid on her routes. Angie's hobbies are 4 wheeling in the summer and fall and hanging out by the pool with her own kids!
Beth A started driving a transit van in 2021 out of our Waconia facilities, then in 2023 she tested for her class B. She likes the minibus and loves the conversations with the kids as well as the sunrises she sees during her AM routes. When not driving, Beth enjoys time with her family & friends, going for walks, knitting and reading.
Greg S started driving a big bus in 2018 for an afternoon route out of Waconia. Greg enjoys being able to see the kids every day and helping to make a difference in the community. In his free time Greg enjoys hanging out with his family and refereeing youth soccer games.
Amy R started driving a full size bus for us in 2007 and drives out of our Waconia facilities. Amy is also a hairdresser when she is not driving the kiddos. She’s a great driver, so thinking she’s also a great stylist, too!
Theresa W drives a mini bus out of the Shakopee facilities. Theresa began with Koch Bus Service in February 2011 and drove for the previous owner prior to that. Theresa is wonderful with her kids and has had many of the same families for several years.
Ron drives a big bus out of Watertown North. He's been with Koch Bus Service since 2011 and was with the previous owner prior to that. Ron is very active in the community and has served on his township board for 30 years. He also enjoys driving activity buses to sporting events and field trips.
Brianna drives a transit van out of Watertown South. She began with KBS in March of 2018. Brianna is wonderful with her students and they really, really like her. Brianna and her family live in Watertown.
Mike B drives a Cologne Academy route out of our Waconia garage. Mike started in Nov 2017 in Watertown then switched to Waconia. He enjoys gardening and canning fresh produce as well as making maple syrup. Mike is one of those drivers that comes in early every morning to chat with all the drivers.
Mark T began driving in August 2013 at our Watertown location and then moved to our Waconia facilities. Mark drives a big bus in the St Bonifacius / Minnetrista area. Mark is an excellent driver, very punctual, and wears shorts almost year-round.
Kim T drove mini buses for 6 years prior to joining Koch Bus Service in 2020. She loves her kids and has developed a special bond with each one. Kim always gives her kids special presents for their birthdays and all holidays! Because of the positive work environment at KBS, she now actually enjoys getting up early!
Adrienne started driving for us Sept 2021. She drives a transit van on a Waconia route and likes the flexibility and the fun atmosphere! She’s a busy girl when not driving; taking care of and riding her horse. She also loves riding her motorcycle, going to car shows and antiquing, to name a few hobbies.
Jolene J has been driving a full size bus out of the Waconia facilities since 2020. Jolene enjoys driving and learning new things as it’s always an adventure. In her free time, she enjoys working out using her kettlebells, long drives and taking nature photos.
Dave S has been driving out of Shakopee since 2013. saying that the drivers/staff have been great to work with. He has learned a lot about special need kids. He worked for the phone co for 40 years and is a Vietnam vet. He and his wife enjoy traveling, gardening, home maintenance, visiting with their children, grandkids and church activities.
Jodi E started driving a full size bus for us out of our Watertown South facilities in June of 2013. She loves getting to know the kids and watching them grow up. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family or chasing after her fur and feathered pets.
Rich W started driving a big bus for us in 2020 out of our Waconia facilities. He really likes the kids and helping them solve problems with the teachers and parents. Here’s Rich in his 2024 full size Thomas!
"Marty" got a little push from his wife when one day she walked in with her arms crossed and said “you’ve been retired for two years - now go get a fun job!” So Martin started with us in 2019. He drives a transit van out of Waconia. He enjoys the relationship he has with his kids - guess his wife was right! He still has plenty of time to read and use his green thumb outside.
Dean C started with KBS in 2009 at Waconia. Dean enjoyed driving routes & activity trips plus he was one of the guys that came in early to insure all our fluids were topped off. In November of 2023, he & his wife decided to retire and travel the country. All the best to them but thankfully when he has some free time, he always checks in to see if we need a sub driver!
Benji started with Koch Bus Service in 2013 driving a van. In 2014 he got his class B CDL and now drives a mini bus. Benji also does sporting and other events. With his free time, he enjoys walking outdoors and shopping. As one can see by his smile, he truly enjoys making a difference in a child’s life...
Sue H has logged many enjoyable miles driving kids from grades K-12 kids for us out of Waconia since 2003! Currently she drives 18-20 year old transition students. She has met many students and takes the time to get to know them all. In her free time, Sue likes reading, taking walks with her dog and she also coaches Special Olympics!
John H started driving for us out of our Waconia facilities in 2021. One of his favorite things about a big bus is that he is able to be a “little vocal" with the kids, so guessing that his voice works better that his PA speakers. In his free time, John spends time with his wife, their grandkids, fishing and last but not least; riding his Harley-Davidson Road King!
Kelly started driving a van in August 2019 out of our Waconia facilities. Then in 2022 she trained and received her CDL for a “big” bus! She really likes full size buses and in 2023, she was given one of the nicest IC buses in the fleet. Kelly likes the flexibility and the students that she has. In her free time, Kelly enjoys crafting and being with her own kids and grandkids.
Judy’s bio could fill a page but here goes; Judy married Curtis Koch, son of founder Victor in 1964. Her plan of being a stay at home Mom raising a family were forever changed, when Victor talked her into driving a route. Looking back, she wouldn’t change a thing. Judy was thinking she could retire when her son Brian took over in the 90’s, but to this day she still fills in as a van driver when needed, plus helps out in the office. One of her best feelings is knowing she has been a part of many students lives that she has driven starting in kindergarten and have long since graduated. With whatever spare time she has, she spends most of it with her grandkids and you guessed it; she “enjoys hanging out at the bus garage, visiting with all the drivers”!
